​The Green Recruitment Company is currently working with a European Renewable developer who is looking for a Grid Connections Manager to join their UK office. This person will be looking to secure grid connections for solar wind and energy storage projects.

This is a great opportunity to join a growing IPP who have a strong UK and Italian pipeline. The business is open to looking at candidates from a wide range of backgrounds including DNO, NG, ICP developer etc.

Position:

In this role, the successful candidate will identify and secure new grid connections and apply their technical and commercial expertise to the management of existing projects.

The Role:

• Identify new grid connection opportunities, working in collaboration with the land and planning teams.

• Apply for new grid connections and assess the viability of offers received.

• Apply technical and commercial expertise to the management of the connections pipeline.

• Coordinate with and build relationships directly with National Grid, DNOs and IDNOs.

• Manage the delivery of work undertaken by external contractors and consultants.

Experience:

• A relevant degree, for example in electrical engineering (or equivalent experience).

• Experience planning new connections, preparing and submitting grid applications, and reviewing offers for solar and/or storage.

• Knowledge of UK distribution (and preferably transmission) networks, the grid connection processes, relevant codes/legislation and roles of the various key parties involved.

• Knowledge of the electrical design of solar PV and battery storage plants.

• Ability to identify and manage technical and commercial grid risk in new grid connections.

• Experience in a system planning, connection design or similar role would be advantageous.

• Competence in Microsoft Office.
