Summary: 

A multinational wind and solar developer are seeking a Grid Connection Manager for their Melbourne office. As part of a wider recruitment drive for the APAC region, this company are looking to expand their Melbourne team with several new employees. In this role as Grid Connection Manager, you will be responsible for the overall Grid Connection processes within the Australian business

Your Responsibilities:

As Grid Connection Manager your responsibilities will be:

  • Supporting the Development Teams across a range of renewable energy development projects
  • Develop and manage strategies surrounding grid connections
  • Manage the external contract engineering for grid connection issues
  • Review engineering design and validate for grid works internally
  • Undertake strategic planning meetings with client stakeholders to streamline grid connection processes
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with AEMO, NSPs and NER
  • Establish and maintain technical relationships with AEMO and NSPs and other partners
  • Provide technical support for connection matters of renewable projects under construction
  • Support engineers in any grid related matters

 

Skills, Qualifications and Experience required from you:

  • A degree or equivalent in Electrical / Power Systems Engineering
  • Understanding of Australian Renewable energy market and AEMO standards
  • Knowledge of power systems engineering in T&D, substations and renewable energy generation
  • Knowledge of interconnection procedures and experience in connection applications
  • Knowledge and experience of power system modelling software
  • Familiarity of SCADA system designs
  • Policy development knowledge
  •  Experience in NSP and regulatory issues
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
