Job Title: Graduate Accounting Assistant

Location: Glasgow, Scotland (Hybrid Working)

As a Graduate Accounting Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the financial operations. Working closely with the finance team, you will assist in various accounting functions, contributing to the overall success of the mission to advance renewable energy initiatives.

Our client is a leading company in the renewable energy sector, dedicated to promoting sustainable practices and providing clean energy solutions. With a commitment to environmental responsibility, innovation, and growth, we are at the forefront of transforming the energy landscape. The Graduate Accounting Assistant will be part of the Finance team and this is an entry-level role that will suit a recent graduate from an Accounting / Finance degree at the university.

The role:

  • Accurately enter financial transactions into the accounting system.

  • In addition, maintain organized and up-to-date financial records.

  • Support the month-end close process by reconciling accounts and preparing relevant documentation.

  • Furthermore, assist in the preparation of financial statements.

  • Moreover, generate financial reports for management review.

  • Provide support during internal and external audits, ensuring all necessary documentation is readily available.

  • Work closely with auditors to address inquiries and facilitate the audit process.

  • Bank reconciliations together with VAT returns

  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure compliance with ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) standards.

  • Stay informed about ACCA regulations and updates, implementing best practices in accounting procedures.

  • Lastly, collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial information and support decision-making processes.

The individual:

  • Have an undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Additionally, strong analytical and numerical skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.

  • Furthermore, proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid working environment.

  • Lastly, strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

This role can support the ACCA.
