THE OPPORTUNITY:

Brilliant opportunity for a bright graduate to join the asset management team of a leading renewable energy investor as a Graduate Accountant.

This particular fund are leaders within the sector and their current multi £billion portfolio includes solar PV, onshore wind, bioenergy & storage assets.

The company has ambitious plans for the future and is keen to recruit a competent and reliable individual able to work independently to help administer the various projects we currently manage.

THE ROLE:

Supporting the Finance Manager, the main responsibilities for the role are:

  • Assisting in the preparation of management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations for a number of project vehicles
  • Preparation of payment runs and bank reconciliations
  • Processing and filing purchase invoices
  • Raising sales invoices
  • Liaising with suppliers and customers on reconciliations and queries
  • Transaction posting
  • Maintaining and updating investor schedules
  • Production of dividend and loan certificates
  • Processing and checking expense claims and credit card statements
  • Assisting in preparation of VAT returns
  • Responsible for banking liaison - i.e. coordinating mandates for opening accounts, adding signatories, managing bank summary reports, and other applications
  • Due to the small nature of the company there will be a number of ad hoc duties that will assist the accounting team and investment managers

THE INDIVIDUAL:

  • Well-presented individual with outgoing personality
  • Good degree in a relevant discipline & Excellent A-levels
  • Strong knowledge of Excel and MS Office
  • Accounting package experience
  • High level of numeracy
  • Keen attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to take responsibility and work with limited supervision
  • A reliable, honest and discreet individual
  • Strong communication and personal skills
  • Although no prior experience within the low carbon sectors is not required, it will be advantageous if the candidate is able to demonstrate an interest in sustainability
