​The Green Recruitment Company are currently retained by a global developer, owner, operator who are looking for a Global Head of Construction to oversee the delivery of Solar, Wind and BESS projects across multiple different geographies.

Key Responsibilities:

The Head of Construction plays a critical role for the business, overseeing all aspects of construction project delivery. This role includes the management of a team of construction project managers dedicated to executing large-scale renewable energy projects connected to the grid.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

1. Team Leadership: Leading a team of construction managers, offering support to ensure on-time and within-budget project delivery. Proficiency in remote team leadership, coaching, and skills development is crucial. The role also involves serving as an escalation point for problem-solving and providing guidance to maintain operational efficiency.

2. Partnership Management: Acting as the company's liaison with all contractors throughout the construction phase. Balancing the relationship and performance management aspects is critical. Meticulous attention to detail is required during the tendering process, and exceptional relationship-building skills are necessary for successful collaboration and high-standard project delivery.

3. Construction Management: Taking responsibility for all construction activities, evaluating risks, and implementing mitigation measures (e.g., technical studies, ground investigations). Expertise in project and company documentation, such as Pre-Construction Information Packs, is essential. Collaboration with the Head of EPC ensures that project contracts incorporate the necessary risk mitigation strategies to meet international standards.

4. Accountability: In-depth knowledge of contracts and a commitment to ensuring both the business and partners meet all Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Holding accountability for the master program, construction risk register, and budget management and reporting, and utilizing these tools to ensure accountability among oneself, the team, and partners.

5. Building for Scale: Contributing substantial expertise to help the business develop processes, tools, and capabilities across the organization to meet ambitious growth targets. Sharing lessons learned post-project, defining best practices, and using technology to enhance team efficiency.

Your Profile:

• Enthusiasm and commitment to the role.

• Experience managing renewable energy construction projects (e.g., BESS, Solar, Wind, Peaking plants) across different geographies.

• Over 15 years of experience in building renewable energy generation assets.

• At least 10 years of experience in managing, developing, and leading Construction Project Managers, with a focus on remote leadership and effective team communication.

• Proven ability to drive accountability and manage risks through deep contractual knowledge.
