Job description
Our client, a fast growing Renewable IPP, is seeking a Financial Analyst who will provide support in all aspects of renewable energy and corporate finance activities including M&A, raising and structuring project debt and tax equity and revenue contract origination. The role will work directly with leading industry participants, including developers, financing partners, and investment banks. Reporting to the VP of Project Finance, this is a full-time hybrid position located in Durham, NC.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and maintain financial models using multiple different capital structures
Assist in screening, structuring, and pricing acquisitions and project bids
Prepare analyses for internal investment committee approvals
Support raising and structuring debt, equity, and tax equity for utility-scale solar projects
Support origination of revenue contracts and related analysis to inform pricing and structuring
Assist in structuring and pricing project divestitures
Assist in due diligence of project acquisitions and greenfield development opportunities
Understand historical data sets through publicly available energy pricing to form forward views on pricing and other market dynamics
Assist with market research, analytics, and modeling
Performs other duties as assigned
SKILLS AND PERSONAL QUALITIES
Excellent financial modeling skills, including high proficiency with Excel
Exceptional analytical capabilities and attention to detail
Self-starter that operates well in an entrepreneurial and collaborative environment
Strong sense of accountability
Strong organization and management skills
Ability to prioritize concurrent tasks in a fast-paced environment
Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
EDUCATION/PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, statistics, or a similar discipline
1-3 years of work experience in banking or similar industry a plus
Advanced Excel training a plus
Background in project finance, investment banking, private equity, or leveraged finance
