Job description
THE OPPORTUNITY:
An exciting opportunity to join an investment manager that works with a number of both UK and international portfolios in solar PV installations. Due to the company's ambitious growth strategy, a highly-skilled Finance Manager is being sought with experience in the Energy or Infrastructure space.
THE ROLE:
The role is wide-ranging and will see the candidate oversee the financial reporting and performance analysis of a portfolio of solar and other energy infrastructure assets.
The candidate needs the ability to identify issues efficiently but also the capacity to resolve them with a proactive mindset. The candidate will be supported by a high calibre investment and finance team.
Key duties/responsibilities:

Preparation, oversight and quality control of management accounts for single purpose entities.

Review of fund performance and reporting to the Group Financial Controller.

Review of management accountant submissions and performance reporting

Setting up and monitoring cost accounting and report for projects in various stages of development and construction

Preparation of Key Performance Indicator reporting across the portfolios.

Performance of analysis and proposals to rectify any areas of concern.

Performing financial analysis of investments under management

Presentation of financial analysis to management and shareholders

Ensuring an environment of strong financial control.

Liaison with external advisors, particularly tax and legal.

Share responsibility for managing and providing training for 2 accountants assistants.

Driving automation through the month end management accounting and reporting process so that efficiencies can be achieved.

A reasonably large amount of ad hoc activity to provide support to the investment managers relating to existing and potential investments.
THE INDIVIDUAL:
Key attributes:

2-5 years PQE in a similar role

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or any other relevant discipline is preferred. ACA / ACCA
-
Proficient working in Excel and MS Office.

Accounting package experience

High numeracy skills

Keen attention to detail and excellent organisational skills

Ability to take responsibility and work with limited supervision

Strong communication and personal skills
