Job description

Are you looking to lead the Environmental initiatives at a leading renewables infrastructure fund?

The role will require a high degree of independence and will be varied in nature, from ensuring ongoing compliance with environmental legislation, to the creation of value-add opportunities for AUM.

The role will leverage the structure of the Group to ensure environmental considerations are embedded across the asset lifecycle whilst maintaining a strategic focus to ensure the fund is well positioned to seize opportunities relating to nature markets. The successful candidate will need to be able to build and maintain strong relationships across the Group.

Duties will include but not limited to:

  • Becoming the ‘knowledge centre’ of UK and EU environmental legislation and how this applies to its portfolios under management.

  • Take responsibility for the Group’s carbon footprint, including data collection and analysis, working with the groups companies to reduce their carbon emissions over time.

  • Develop and implement a Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) framework for the Group, working collaboratively with development, investment, and O&M teams to ensure appropriate net gain commitments are entered into and maintained over time.

  • Develop and implement environmental policies and practices in accordance with legal and corporate guidelines, including in relation to waste and herbicide use.

  • Manage the budget and deliverables for environmental programs, including the Group’s nature strategy, and identify value-add projects for AUM.

  • Embed climate risk monitoring into operational and asset management processes and support delivery of climate adaptation plans.

Required experience:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in Environmental Management, ideally within the renewables industry.

  • Experience with Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) and land management.

  • Excellent writing and communication skills.

  • Highly collaborative and able to maintain relationships across the Group.

  • Strong project management skills and ability to respond to tight deadlines.

  • Highly organised and self-motivated.
