Energy Infrastructure Asset Manager

The Green Recruitment Company has been retained to find a Gas Pipeline Energy Infrastructure Asset Manager for a sustainable energy company that develops, constructs, operates, and manages renewable energy projects in the solar, natural gas, wind & storage sectors in South Africa. You will be a smart well-presented, sophisticated person, who can deal with bluechip type companies at a high level with professionalism & good experience.

Location:

Ideally Gauteng or Cape Town however it can be Remote with some travel.

Salary:

R550k to R700k ZAR

Requirements:

  • Five to eight years ideally in the Oil. Energy or renewables Field

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in the fields of science, technology, engineering, math (STEM) or business fields.

  • Driving Licence

  • Ms. Office Suite experience (excel (expert), PowerPoint, presentations, word, outlook)

  • SCADA Software experience is a plus.

  • A strong HSE ethos and understanding.

  • At least five years’ experience within the oil & energy space

  • Experience in managing sub-contractors, technical advisors & service providers.

  • A background in general contractor management

  • Robust knowledge of gas pipelines safety rules/safety culture and a capability of ensuring contractors embrace these principles and apply them during day-to-day working practices.

  • Good knowledge of maximizing yield and reducing losses.

  • An understanding of asset reliability and associated management practices

  • An ability to communicate knowledgeably and effectively in a variety of forums and circumstances to a variety of stakeholders.

  • Strong commercial acumen to coordinate with all stakeholders.

  • Make and give presentations to prospective clients and internal executives.

  • Manage and implement processes and policies to support the overall business.

  • Track, identify, and add qualified prospects to the sales pipeline.

  • Develop and manage strategic partnerships to grow business.

  • Track and report on the status of proposal components throughout the sales cycle

  • Negotiate contract terms with clients and communicate with stakeholders.

  • Monitor product delivery teams to ensure contracts are executed as agreed.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Engaging day-to-day with the relevant stakeholders to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations of assets within the existing portfolio e.g., planning & scheduling works whilst assessing/mitigating both physical and commercial risks.

  • Ensure a positive relationship with site-based service providers and delivery of a quality service on occasion.

  • Daily monitoring of the assets and liaising with relevant service providers

  • Taking responsibility for maximizing the output at all operational sites

  • Identifying and ensuring that adequately trained/competent contractors/staff and resources are in place to ensure the optimum and reliable performance of operational assets.

  • Working to the guidance of the Clients & Local Legislation Health and Safety Management System, take responsibility for implementing safety, security (physical & cyber), and environmental management.

  • Liaison with various service providers e.g., OEMs, service providers, and contractors, to ensure there is a provision of data for management reports.
