Our client is a global leader in infinitely recyclable aluminium beverage packaging and aerosols, and also provides products and services for the aerospace industry looking for an experienced Energy Analyst 

The Role:

  • Assist in managing the tendering process for power and gas contracts
  • Working with Sustainability to report emissions reporting and compliance (CDP, Dow Jones and Annual Report)
  • Assist the Senior buyer in working with legal to ensure contracts are robust
  • Gather and analyse data to provide insight on spend
  • Communicate with utilities, local distribution companies, and public utility commissions to gather timely, accurate, and complete energy market intelligence
  • Assist with budget preparation and submission
  • Work with the plant finance to understand rebates and discounts
  • Track all plants energy usage forecasts and communicated to every supplier on a quarterly basis
  • Audit all hedges on a quarterly basis
  • Track contract renewals and ensure all contracts are countersigned

The Individual:

  • Proven knowledge of EU electricity and natural gas markets and associated regulations
  • Degree level education in a commercial/business discipline – finance, economics, business Numerate and Analytical background with and with a high proficiency in Excel and data manipulation. Python skills are a plus.
  • Knowledge of supply and demand side fundamentals for energy commodities.
  • Tendering process for electricity and natural gas in EU markets
  • Financial evaluation models (Preferred)
