Job description
Responsabilities:
- Create, execute, and manage project development plans to meet project objectives, including cost, schedule, and resources
- Manage and oversee joint venture and partner developers
- Lead execution of, provide regular reporting for, and make strategic recommendations regarding project development activities, including:
- Land acquisition and title curative work
- Environmental assessments
- Local municipality, county, state, federal and regional permitting including meetings with key agencies
- Energy assessment
- Stakeholder consultation and management
- Project technical design, infrastructure siting
- Construction contractor selection and contracting
- Equipment procurement and commercial negotiation
- In conjunction with other team members, coordinate, monitor, provide regular reporting for development activities relevant for:
- Commercial and technical aspects of project interconnection
- Offtake origination and power marketing
- Perform and lead due diligence review of prospective wind, solar and/or storage development asset acquisitions and new development partnerships
- Manage or lead interaction with a team of internal and external resources
- Participate in development of company long-term acquisition, development and operation strategies and assist in implementation of these strategies
- Support project finance team in executing on development portfolio and delivering projects for financing
- Cooperate with and assist project finance or M&A teams
- Opportunity for further role expansion into financial and/or technical aspects of project development
Requirements:
- University degree or equivalent in relevant disciplines (e.g. engineering, environmental, business, etc.)
- Strong track record of successful development of US wind, solar and/or storage projects in various markets (MISO experience an asset)
- Strong project management skills
- Experience in managing and interacting with remote or indirect internal and external resources, including consultants and contractors
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills
- Travel requirements estimated at up to 20% – 30%
