Job Description:

As the Director of Business Development for my client's electric vehicle charging company, you will be responsible for driving strategic growth and building partnerships to expand their market presence. Leading a team of business development professionals, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, develop, and execute business opportunities that align with the company's vision and goals. Your contributions will directly impact the sustainable future of mobility and accelerate the EV charging infrastructure landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze the EV charging industry, identify market trends, and develop comprehensive business strategies that position the company as a leader in the market. Utilize data-driven insights to identify growth opportunities and address challenges.

  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government bodies, utility companies, commercial property owners, automotive manufacturers, and other relevant organizations. Collaborate on partnerships and alliances to enhance the EV charging network's reach and efficiency.

  • Lead the business development team in driving revenue growth by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, preparing compelling proposals, and negotiating contracts with potential clients.

  • Develop and implement strategies to expand the EV charging network into new regions and countries. Identify suitable locations for charging stations based on market analysis and customer demand.

  • Collaborate with the product development team to identify new product and service offerings that align with customer needs and enhance the company's competitive advantage in the EV charging market.

  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to raise awareness and build thought leadership. Leverage networking opportunities to foster partnerships and collaborations.

  • Develop and manage the business development budget. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success and ensure the team's performance aligns with organizational objectives.

  • Monitor and analyze competitor activities, market trends, and industry developments to stay ahead of the competition and adapt strategies accordingly.


  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree would be advantageous.

  • At least 8-10 years of progressive experience in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role within the EV industry or a related sector.

  • Demonstrated understanding of the electric vehicle charging market, its players, and the associated technologies, regulations, and trends.

  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team, driving collaboration and fostering a culture of innovation.

  • Ability to think strategically, envision future trends, and translate them into actionable business plans.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate complex deals and partnerships.

  • Strong track record of delivering business growth and achieving revenue targets.

  • Strong networking skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

  • Willingness to travel and adapt to dynamic business environments.

  • A genuine passion for sustainable transportation and reducing carbon emissions through electric mobility solutions.
