Job description

My client is a leading specialist (IPP) in the development, financing, construction, and operation of power production plants from renewable recourses, such as wind, sun, water, biogas, biomass, and biofuel. With a global network, my client has high deal flow currently operating approximately 475MW of assets. This Wind Development Manger will mainly focus on wind development, however depending on specific opportunities available projects in other technologies may be undertaken.

Responsibilities:

  •  Manages utility scale wind projects
  • Oversees landowner lease negotiations in projects involving large numbers of landowners
  • Establish, monitor and update Development Budgets as required through the development phase
  • Micro-sitting and permitting
  • Coordinates the project interconnection process, including grid integration studies and grid connection agreements
  • Oversees project environmental and wildlife studies
  • Coordinates project budget, schedule, and pro forma
  • Provides support in negotiation of power purchase and asset agreements
  • Manages the implementation of local, state, and federal permitting

Qualifications:

  •  Five to seven years of energy development experience; direct wind development experience preferred
  • Engineer with generalist, environmental or energy background. Undergraduate degree in a development related field with a strong academic record required
  •  Experience in developing wind projects would be appreciated
  • Dynamism and curiosity towards energy and environment
  • Proven track record in project management and contract negotiations
  • Strong organization skills, able to multi-task, and can manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to run project financial models
  • Willing and able to travel 50%
  • Familiar with GIS, Experienced user of OpenWind or similar WRA software
