The Opportunity

A leading international brand in solar and battery project development, financing, operations, and asset management looks for a qualified Project Development Manager for Greenfield opportunity on the West Coast. The company has teams in over 10 countries, including major solar power markets such as China, USA, Canada, and Europe. By leveraging its global presence and extensive network, they are well-positioned to develop high quality green energy projects with attractive returns around the world.

 

The Project Developer will work with our experienced team of Solar Professionals in the USA. He/she will cooperate with their team, advisors, buyer & Seller clients, and contractors in order to timely and successfully complete project origination and project acquisitions. Additionally, as called upon, support construction, financing, and the sale of PV projects in the USA. The Project Development Manager will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following tasks:

 

The Role

  • Acquire or develop commercial scale solar projects, and build up a project pipeline;
  • Originate new facility sites within an assigned development environment (state, region, etc.); Qualify new originations with disciplined due diligence to eliminate early stage fatal flaws; Overcome problem areas/features of selected sites;
  • Manage or support the project permitting process, including establishing contact and relationships with appropriate AHJs (authorities having jurisdiction)
  • Determine appropriate points of interconnection with electric utility grid resources and determine interconnection feasibility, including easements for interconnecting lines;
  • Identify energy offtake opportunities and negotiate PPAs (power purchase agreements) with parties appropriate to applicable solar programs;
  • Establish a high level of expertise in all local solar development rules, (specific to assigned development territories), including solar legislation, tax issues and solar program guidelines; Establish deep knowledge of interconnection protocols with local utilities;
  • Support financial modeling of projects with the goal of achieving a comprehensive and realistic financial expectations;
  • Keep senior management apprised on any changes in solar programs, or new opportunities, in assigned territory;www.renesolapower.com
  • Develop competitive market intelligence on competing solar developers in assigned development territory;
  • Develop knowledge of and relationships with, third party supporting service providers for solar facilities activities (e.g: consulting engineers, legislative consultants, site evaluation services, etc.; Represent company a premier solar developer within assigned territory, including making presentations at local trade events.

 

The Person

  • Work experience of at least 5 years;
  • Bachelor Degree;
  • Substantial knowledge of renewable energy, utility, and solar PV market;
  • Solar project experience;
  • Team leading experience;
