Job title: Decarbonisation Manager

Location: Home based

​Client Overview:

Offering an unrivalled ability to execute zero-carbon strategies from assessment through to delivery, this UK leading facilities management and professional services company are now looking to expand their Energy Consulting team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of experts (energy / waste / nature-based solutions) to deliver the company decarbonisation initiative to strategic clients to reduce their environmental impact with the aim to create a more sustainable future

  • Oversee the creation and operational delivery of decarbonisation pathways

  • Responsible for delivering designed and costed proposals that provide a clear pathway to invest in low carbon technology projects that enable clients to go harder and faster in their carbon reduction ambitions

  • Identifying solutions to enhance sustainable objectives

  • Helping to create new business opportunities within the client base

Experience:

  • Degree or other relevant qualification (Chartered Status)

  • Member of a relevant professional Institute (such as the EI, CIBSE, IEMA or similar)

  • Minimum of five years' experience in operational delivery of sustainability initiatives and decarbonisation solutions.

  • Knowledge and experience of working in the public sector including the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme and other public sector funding schemes is important

  • Independent thinker, with good customer facing skills and the ability to build relationships both internally and with major clients

  • Good commercial skills, responsible for managing a diverse team and delivering an agreed budget /programme.

  • Evaluation of the performance and cost-effectiveness of environmental reduction and energy efficiency technologies, for use in industrial, commercial, and public sector facilities.

  • Knowledge of the UKGBC Net Zero, GHG Protocol, SBTi, PAS 2050, PAS 2060, RICS Embodied Carbon guidance methodology and other key methodologies for carbon reduction consulting.

  • Experience of using CIBSE TM65 Embodied carbon calculation methodology

  • Experience or knowledge in conducting on-site energy assessments, environmental audits, and surveys of commercial and public sector facilities.

  • Excellent report writing skills relating to energy efficiency technologies, and the results of sustainability assessments.

  • Good knowledge of current energy, carbon, and environmental legislation.

  • Excellent IT skills in particularly sound knowledge of Microsoft Windows (Word, Excel, Power Point)
