Database Assistant – Rural, Energy & Strategic Projects

Working at our Cardiff office as part of a growing team, you will assist with a variety of activities in order to deliver an effective Energy service to a number of our key internal and external clients. The focus of the role will be on the ongoing administration of our new “Optima” database. This requires a person who can undertake a variety of “data cleansing” exercises, to ensure the integrity of both new and existing data. The role will also involve working with other departments to ensure consistencies across other areas of the business.

 

Responsibilities

  • Run reports from our Energy database, Optima, and cross referencing against other sources of information
  • Review discrepancies within the database and make necessary changes
  • Maintain billing Access database to ensure in line with Optima data
  • Work closely with the database analyst to communicate changes within the database
  • Conduct reviews and audit our invoice scanning software DCS
  • Look for continuous improvements within the database and processes within the department
  • On boarding of new utility supplies and clients
  • Plan and organise workload to ensure deadlines are met
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism when dealing with clients and colleagues.
  • Knowledge and experience of Optima or other Energy Management packages would be beneficial
  • Provide assistance to all team members wherever possible develop and maintain active communication both within your team and other teams
  • In addition to the tasks described above, the job holder may be required to carry out other duties as may reasonably be required from time to time
  • You may be required at times to work on other projects that are not related to the contract. Specific training will be provided before commencement of your involvement of any project.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Knowledge of Microsoft packages (Excel, Outlook, Word, Access, PowerPoint) is required
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Good mathematical skills and a keen eye for numbers
  • Good communicator
  • Previous Experience in the Utilities industry is an advantage
