Job description

SUMMARY

Our client is looking to add an Control Systems Engineer to their team down here in Orlando, Florida.

  • Engineering design, design review, client’s controls integration (DCS) and perform MHI Control System clarifications
  • Witnessing Clients Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), clarification of MHI control procedures
  • Project on-site installation and commissioning assistance and support if needed.
  • Training client staff on MHI control systems

 

BASIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and reviewing new design concepts and assisting in the developing of new control systems.
  • Maintaining and modifying existing control systems.
  • Collaborating with design engineers, operations engineers, purchasers, sales & marketing and other internal staff.
  • Liaising with clients, suppliers, contractors, project management and other relevant authorities within cost and time constrained environments.
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving at various project sites.
  • Understanding and ensuring compliance with the health and safety regulations and quality standards of the country in which work is undertaken.
  • Provide advice and consultancy support.
  • Development of RFQ’s for purchasing equipment.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Provide start-up commissioning, operations and/or troubleshooting support for equipment failures and determine root cause analysis and implement solutions.
  • Verify slot assignment, output, transmitter, failsafe structure, connections, display, and system/loop check, operational, functional and tuning.
  • Perform Classroom & OJT training of MHI Control system.
  • Program Mitsubishi logic controllers.
  • Prepare and submit accurate reports regarding conditions, required actions and obtained results.
    • Overnight travel (at least 10%) by land and/or air.
    • Perform other such duties as may be required.
    • Knowledge in Networking
    • Knowledge in Cyber Security requirements such as NERC CIP and IEC.
    • Familiar with USA/International codes and standards such as UL508A, NEMA, CSA, IEC, etc..

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (BS) in Engineering from four-year college or university; and at least three (3) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in specific control disciplines such as advanced process control (APC), distributed control systems (DCS), programmable logic controllers (PLC), OPC/Modbus/Foundation field bus and other forms of industry known communications and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) as applicable to power plants.
