Job title: Community Engagement Manager

Location: Melbourne, Victoria, Australia (Hybrid)

The Green Recruitment Company is proud to partner with an international renewable energy developer to find a Community Engagement Manager. In addition, you'll cultivate relationships with the local community, landowners, regulators, and other external stakeholders to progress utility-scale Solar and Wind projects across Australia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify key stakeholders and establish strong working relationships to understand concerns and progress the development of greenfield renewable energy projects.

  • Cultivate strong relationships with the local community, First Nation groups, landowners, and other stakeholders related to new project developments.

  • Organise and facilitate stakeholder meetings, workshops, and information sessions to promote dialogue and collaboration.

  • Facilitate site visits and public events to inform stakeholders of project plans, environmental impacts, and community benefits.

  • Anticipate and address community concerns, conflicts, and objections related to project development, utilising conflict resolution and mediation strategies.

  • Support the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessments, approvals, and other regulatory documents, incorporating community feedback and input.

  • Collaborate with project teams to integrate community feedback into project planning, design, and implantation processes.

Your Profile:

  • Degree in Environmental Science, Communications, or a related field.

  • 4-6 years in community engagement, stakeholder management, or approvals for renewable energy projects.

  • Experience engaging with landowners, community groups, regulators, and First Nation Groups regarding the development of greenfield projects.

  • Strong understanding of community dynamics, cultural sensitivities, and Indigenous engagement principles.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships and convey technical information to diverse stakeholders.

  • Ability to collaborate with development teams, land acquisition teams, and environment and approval teams.

  • Ability to travel to project sites and rural areas within Australia.
