Job description

Commercial Real Estate Lawyer – Renewable Energy

Full Time, Office and Home-based Working.

The Role

  • Drafting, negotiating, and securing documents including, exclusivity agreements, heads of terms, options & leases, easements, licence, rights of access
  • Legal due diligence on development opportunities including grid connection agreements
  • Property searches on land parcels, site access and cable routes
  • Compiling report on title and red flag reports
  • Providing advice and legal opinion to recommended mitigation measures to overcome property issues
  • Drafting, negotiating, new contracts – co-operation, professional service & framework agreements
  • Scottish property law experience would be beneficial
  • UK planning law experience would be beneficial
  • Providing legal advice and opinion on grid offers
  • Working as part of the development team on the development activities

About You

  • Qualified lawyer with at least 5 years’ post qualification experience in commercial real estate law
  • Experience in renewable energy and/or asset management is highly desirable
  • Be flexible and pragmatic with a problem solving and solutions base approach.
  • Capable handling property matters, in highlighting risks and then providing advice on mitigation measures
  • Demonstrate good oral and written communication skills
  • Be a self-starter, enthusiastic, resourceful, and driven to continually develop knowledge and skills in a progressive and supportive environment
  • Be pro-active and motivated with excellent organisational skills
