The Opportunity

The Green Recruitment Company are partnered with a leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy who specialise in a variety of aspects within the built environment.

 

Currently, the Building Engineering division in London are seeking an "Associate Mechanical Engineer" to be responsible and accountable for the overall design, technical delivery, quality and/or management of the MEP design of large, complex data centre projects.

 

The Role - Associate Mechanical Engineer

Reporting to the Projects Director, you will be expected to have extensive data centre design experience having led multi-disciplinary teams for data centres and mission-critical projects through a variety of project and RIBA design stages. Projects will include the design of new-build facilities as well as the improvement of existing facilities. The latter will involve undertaking site inspections and measurements, checking commissioning data, reviewing installations and the like.

 

As part of your role, you will be a recognised focal point for client contact and be able to influence strategically. This role will be responsible for a number of strategic aspects in relation to the mechanical portfolio and its delivery; ensuring that the overall interests of the business are met.

 

The Individual

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical or HVAC Engineering, ideally to Masters level
  • Have achieved Chartered Engineer status via an appropriate professional institution such as IMechE or CIBSE
  • Extensive experience of large-scale and complex mission-critical projects
  • Ability to provide technical leadership of multi-discipline design teams including external sub-consultants
  • Strong awareness of appropriate sector-specific legislation, code requirements and design guidance and future trends
