Job description

I'm delighted to exclusively represent a leading Private Equity fund in their search for an Associate. The investment strategy is dedicated purely to clean infrastructure and low-carbon real assets throughout North America.

Their initial investment vehicle (Fund I) has been hugely successful and has invested directly into assets and infrastructure companies operating in the renewable, clean tech and energy transition space. The firm is underway for Fund II's capital raise which is targeting 1.5-2x the size of the inaugural vehicle and likely to be $1.5bn, with the first close being sometime in Q2 2024.

Currently, the team is lean (around 10 persons) with plans to add a new Associate immediately with further growth targeted for later next year.

My client is looking to add a remarkably talented Associate who can help build and evaluate financial models, perform diligence, evaluate markets, and source investment opportunities. This Associate will have exposure across the full deal cycle and be involved in everything from origination, valuation, structuring and execution of transactions. Excellent opportunity to have unrivalled exposure across the deal value chain.

Unrivalled progression with a highly attractive compensation package, including annual bonus, carry-in fund and GP commitments for all employees.

  • Create detailed investment committee presentations in support of new investments, as well as portfolio company monitoring

  • Partner with portfolio company management on select projects

  • Support the review and reporting of investment performance to stakeholders including limited partners

  • Cultivate a network focused on climate tech/infrastructure to begin sourcing potential deals in energy, water and urban infrastructure

Requirements

  • Outstanding financial modelling and analytical skills

  • Critical thinker with strong problem-framing skills

  • Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the Fund’s success

  • Ability to utilize constructive feedback to learn and grow

  • Team Player

  • Robust organization and time management skills

  • Precise attention to detail

  • Previous work experience at an investment bank or similar financial modelling training program preferred

  • Previous work experience investing in energy and/or real assets
