Job description

The Asset Operations Manager Position requires:

  • Demonstrated understanding of physical asset management for power generation.

  • Experience managing the commercial, physical, and administrative issues surrounding plant operations and management.

  • Familiarity with asset management of energy storage power operations, augmentation strategy, and O&M contracts.

  • Ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams including Project Development, EPC, Finance, Commercial Analytics, and Market Operations.

  • Good understanding of ISO markets and NERC regulatory standards.

  • Ability to quickly learn how storage assets will adapt to changing market constructs and regulatory frameworks across the various ISOs and balancing authorities.

  • General understanding of commercial strategy for power generation assets, including managing facility contractual agreements, coordinating plant operations and maintenance, and budgeting for plant operations.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or other technical degree with commensurate experience overseeing production power facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations with Real Time Asset Manager for power scheduling.

  • Conduct site visits periodically, and complete site status reports, maintain issues list and take appropriate actions to ensure safety, security, and O&M provider engagement.

  • Review and prepare augmentation schedules, communicate plans, and coordinate with EPC and Market Operations teams.

  • Review, negotiate, and ensure compliance with EPC and LTSA contracts.

  • Ensure contractual obligations are met in the most cost effective manner.

  • Ensure facilities are operated in accordance with financial contracts and agreements.

  • Manage all site inventory.

  • Engage with Generator Operator and ensure NERC compliance as required.

  • Review and assist in develop of maintenance and outage plan for energy storage assets.

  • Design and develop reports to be deployed across varying levels of the organization.

  • Maintain, document and continually enhance operational processes.

  • Manage compliance reporting to government agencies as required.

Qualifications

  • Strong problem solving, verbal and written communication, planning, organization and presentation skills.

  • 3+ years of relevant experience.

  • Available on-call around the clock to respond to issues that may require immediate resolution or escalation.
