THE OPPORTUNITY:

Our client, a leading renewable energy investor who manage a project portfolio in excess of £3bn, are strengthening their asset management team in London.

This will comprise of two key strategic hires, one Commercial Asset Manager and one Technical Asset Manager. The business are high profile and have an extensive portfolio of renewable assets including solar PV, onshore wind, bioenergy and storage assets. The roles will work across all technologies and report directly into the Asset Management Director.

THE ROLES:

Commercial Asset Manager - Key Responsibilities :

  • Ongoing compliance with technical operational obligations (legal, warranty, business plan, environmental, H&S etc.).
  • Ad-hoc project support (typical projects are expected to include setup of new management systems, new construction projects, new revenue opportunities, and re-optimisation of the operational fleet).
  • Management of onsite operations and maintenance providers, service records, maintenance systems, regulatory aspects (e.g. new services, emissions monitoring), H&S management.
  • Reporting, analysing and modelling of the assets (multiple types and multiple sites).
  • Physical operations and technical support:
  • Reporting on operations, site despatch, ESS services performance
  • Use of SCADA systems and market information portals.
  • Technical analysis on system performance.
  • Site visits and interactions with Technical Advisers.
  • Work closely with Technical Director and finance and asset management team,.
  • This role is mainly office based, but there may be a requirement to travel to site and supplier locations (approximately two days per month) to oversee site operations, contractors, and service providers.

Skills & Experience

  • The ability to provide in-depth analysis.
  • Numerical degree, technical, financial or science background. Suitable candidates with an IT/data science background will also be considered.
  • Energy industry (renewable assets, fossil fuelled assets, or utility environment) experience.
  • Medium-advanced user of general office systems, business information and management systems will be beneficial.
  • Strong interpersonal skills as the role intersects with a broad cross-section of the business (e.g. from fund reporting activities, to management of site operations / optimisation teams).

Technical Asset Manager - Key Responsibilities:

  • Ongoing compliance with commercial operational obligations (legal, warranty, business plan, environmental, H&S etc.).
  • Ad-hoc project support (typical projects are expected to include setup of new management systems, construction projects, new revenue opportunities, and re-optimisation of the operational fleet).
  • Management of optimisation counterparties and market monitoring across multiple revenue streams.
  • Front office - bidding for various services and finalising on contracts.
  • Back office - settlement of revenues, contract revenues with NG, imbalance with suppliers, embedded benefits etc. and liaison with finance team.
  • Contract management and asset management, including:
  • O&M contract management, mainly in operational phase.
  • Managing multiple revenue streams and reconciliations.
  • Trading contract management linked into commercial operations above.
  • Direct services (or management of same via O&M contracts).
  • Other services/payments, e.g. insurance, rates, rent etc.
  • Regulatory management - for example new revenue streams, flexibility service tenders, regulatory changes and developments.
  • Work closely with Technical Director and finance / asset management team.
  • This role is mainly office based, but travel may be required to customer, supplier or service partner locations (approximately one day per month).
