The business seeks an Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Assistant to join their team in London. The role will suit someone that is a qualified finance professional with a strong understanding of accounting principles.

Job Responsibilities:

• Compiling a weekly payment batch for approval and processing.

• Reconciling bank accounts on a weekly basis for both GBP and foreign currency transactions.

• Timely and accurate data entry of purchase invoices into the accounting system.

• Obtaining necessary authorization for purchase invoices.

• Reporting discrepancies or problems in invoices to the Controller/Treasurer for resolution.

• Organizing and maintaining files for purchase invoices, bank statements, sales invoices, and VAT returns, and assisting with audit requests.

• If accounts payable (AP) is outsourced, sharing AP and accounts receivable (AR) invoices with the service provider regularly.

• Ensuring completion of month-end tasks by the third working day of the following month.

• Monitoring aged debtors, escalating overdue payments, and ensuring accurate and timely creation/posting of sales invoices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree is required. A degree in Finance or equivalent is preferred.

• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Relevant experience in an AP team and knowledge on accounting principles

• Exposure within the renewable energy sector is beneficial but not essential

• Fluency in a European language is a bonus
