Job description

About The Role:

The client is seeking a candidate to join their expanding US team based out of our Washington DC office. This role will be part of the team that is responsible for financial data management, journal entries, account reconciliations, timely completion, and assistance with monthly and quarterly internal financial reporting. Internal control sand accounting for various components of the company. This person will be responsible for multiple other ad hoc projects as assigned, which will cover all aspects of accounting for the clients US renewable energy projects. The primary objective is to account for multiple renewable energy projects working in close cooperation with the Country Manager Accounting Manager and other key stakeholders.

Salary:$80,000+ (DOE)

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the team on the execution of the monthly and quarterly and year-end close process within clearly specified time frames

  • Perform analytical functions necessary to achieve an accurate and timely general ledger month end close. Duties include preparing the monthly development cost tracker analysis of income statement balance sheet and equity transaction, preparation of financial statements and general accounting support for financed and non-financed projects

  • Evaluate and identity potential accounting issues regarding the project's legal agreements

  • Utilize financial reporting software to create and maintain and update reporting templates and data queries

  • Support the business by providing accurate general ledger account codes and order numbers for individual projects based on project stages development construction and operational

  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly unaudited and annual audited financial statements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university

  • Public accounting experience preferred

  • Power and Utility industry experience is preferred.

  • Passion for being detail oriented and highly organized

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including performing financial and analytical computations in Excel Knowledge of SAP (preferred ) or other ERP/ accounting system Excellent verbal and written communication skills
