There is no doubting it, the Australian solar market is booming. Investment in R&D and new projects have today enabled solar to be an integral part of Australia’s energy policy. The numbers are impressive. In 2017 alone Australia added 1.3GW of solar power to the grid and experts say this could likely treble in 2018.

With records being broken, the Australian solar market now has an immediate requirement for a skilled work force to service the demand. According to the latest Renewable Energy Index, the 2.2GW of large-scale solar farms currently in construction across Australia should provide enough jobs for 5,456 employees. Combine this figure with the numbers of solar professionals installing rooftop systems and the figure stands at over 10,000 full-time jobs.
