Developing projects from Consent through to Final Investment Decision (FID)

The Client

My client is one of the UK’s leading renewable energy companies, specialising in wind, solar and energy storage projects. They develop, build, operate and maintain wind farms and other renewable technologies across the full project lifecycle. The UK portfolio consists of nearly 1,000 MW across 36 farms (some of which are offshore). My client are looking to develop more projects on top of this taking their portfolio to nearly 2.5 GW.

The Role

In this development role my client are seeking an individual who will be responsible and accountable for a range of onshore wind projects from the consent stage to final investment decision.

This could be by: (i) acting personally as a project / bid manager for existing UK development sites, acquisitions and auctions, including the upcoming Contracts for Difference (CFD) Allocation Round 4; (ii) providing line management support, general guidance and constructive challenge to our team of Business Development Managers ("BDMs") leading on other projects; and (iii) constantly evaluating our strategy and exploring new opportunities to capture value and stay ahead in a fast paced environment.

You will work closely with the origination team who will focus on land acquisition, planning and EIA.

Your Profile

• 5+ years of experience in the development of wind energy projects
• Exposure to all aspects of the development lifecycle, including consent through to the investment committee
• History of completing an acquisition (M&A)
• Exposure to CFD (Contracts for Difference)
