​The ideal candidate brings significant experience in successfully leading enterprise, B2B SaaS sales teams in dynamic markets with complex, technical products. Experience in renewable energy development, energy economics or energy finance a strong plus.


As the organization’s most senior sales leader, the VP of Sales will be accountable for devising and executing a comprehensive sales execution plan, skillfully managing major accounts, as well as developing and growing a talented sales team to effectively sell across multiple product lines and customer segments.


Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Leading a diverse customer-facing team, including direct sales, channel management, key account management, customer success and inside sales;

  • Devising and building a world-class selling organization, including identifying key sales roles, allocating resources, and developing new sales channel opportunities as the company continues to expand its solution suite;

  • Developing and leading a major accounts strategy that skillfully manages continuously increased penetration and visibility into customer decision-making, and leverages executive resources and relationships at every level;

  • Establishing and fostering a results-oriented sales and customer success culture through the identification and implementation of the critical processes that lead to a second-to- none customer experience;

  • Cultivating the sales organization’s objectives in line with the company’s business strategy through participation and leadership of corporate strategic planning, sales strategy development, and sales resource planning;

  • Steering the company’s overall sales vision and collaborating with Marketing to develop needed materials and collateral;

  • Delivering both personal and team targets for transaction volume, market share, channel penetration, and other key performance objectives;

  • Developing and implementing systematic processes and tools to scale customer relationships and curate customer data;

  • Working closely with the VP of Marketing and solution business leads to coordinate and integrate the team’s efforts with the goal of establishing the firm as the clear leader all service areas where we play;

  • Contributing to corporate strategy and company effectiveness by identifying important short and long-range customer issues, recommending options and courses of action, and implementing directives where needed.



The ideal candidate will have:


  • A mission-driven passion to address the climate crises through software that is accelerating the transition to a renewable energy economy;

  • 7+ years in a B2B, SaaS sales leadership role with a track record of team sales success;

  • Demonstrated experience selling into dynamic markets with complex, technical products;

  • Experience with renewable energy development, energy sales, energy economics, and/or

  • energy finance a strong plus;

  • Experience developing a sales organization from the ground up and leading the team to

  • significant scale and output;

  • Demonstrated experience successfully leading and managing major/key account sales;

  • Track record of leading large complex sales processes from originating to close; preference

  • for personal history of developing talent who can do the same;

  • Proven ability to rapidly learn new industries and develop strategies, tactics and customer-

  • focused value propositions;

  • Intellectual curiosity and a commitment to building groundbreaking new products;

  • Obvious and outstanding leadership qualities;

  • A sense of urgency, and a natural bias for action and an ability to operate independently;

  • Remarkable oral communication skills;

  • Exceptional writing skills;

  • The highest level of integrity and professionalism.


Additional Details

Candidate location is flexible. Salary and incentives commensurate with experience.
