Job description
Our client, a leader in GHG emissions monitoring, is seeking a VP Marketing located in Calgary, AB or Houston, TX. Series B hardware enabled SaaS company that has built a continuous monitoring technology to disrupt the traditional GHG monitoring space for industrial emitters promoting environmental sustainability and regulatory compliance.
The VP Marketing will build a high-performing marketing team, develop and execute strategic marketing plans, and drive revenue growth. This is an opportunity to make a significant impact on global environmental sustainability efforts with a fast-growing IoT company. The VP Marketing will report to the CEO.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in marketing leadership roles, preferably in the IoT industry or related sectors such as environmental monitoring, emissions control, or industrial automation.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to drive brand awareness, market positioning, and customer acquisition within target industries (oil and gas, agriculture, mining).
Lead, mentor, and inspire the marketing team, providing strategic guidance, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration, and driving continuous improvement.
Collaborate closely with the executive team to define and refine the company's brand identity, value proposition, and messaging, ensuring alignment with business objectives and target audience needs.
Drive the development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns across various channels (digital, content, social media, events, etc.), leveraging data-driven insights and best practices to maximize results.
Oversee the creation of compelling marketing collateral, website content, thought leadership materials, case studies, and other sales enablement tools to support lead generation and customer acquisition efforts.
Establish and nurture strategic partnerships and industry relationships to expand the company's reach and enhance brand credibility.
Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify market trends, customer needs, and areas of opportunity, and incorporate findings into marketing strategies and product positioning.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, product, engineering) to ensure alignment and effective communication of marketing initiatives, product launches, and campaign objectives.
Establish and monitor marketing KPIs and performance metrics, providing regular reports and actionable insights to the executive team.
Qualifications:
Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies, driving brand growth, and generating qualified leads in a B2B environment.
Strong knowledge of the target industries (oil and gas, agriculture, mining) and their unique marketing dynamics, customer pain points, and regulatory landscape.
Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a marketing team, foster innovation and collaboration, and drive high performance.
Demonstrated experience in developing and executing integrated marketing campaigns across digital and traditional channels, leveraging marketing automation tools, CRM systems, and data analytics for performance optimization.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create impactful messaging and compelling content that resonates with target audiences.
Strategic mindset, with the ability to analyze market trends, customer insights, and competitive intelligence to inform marketing strategies and drive business growth.
Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
