A leading Chinese EPC contractor is seeking a Technical Manager to oversee the engineering, design, and execution of solar PV and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects.

This is a career-defining opportunity for a technical leader with a deep understanding of renewable energy system design, grid integration, and project execution. Based in Beijing, this role offers the chance to shape the development of utility-scale clean energy projects across China and international markets.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering & Project Execution

• Lead the technical design, engineering, and system integration for solar PV and BESS projects.

• Ensure compliance with international standards and local grid codes, optimizing system performance and reliability.

• Collaborate with procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure smooth project execution.

System Optimization & Innovation

• Evaluate and implement cutting-edge solar and BESS technologies to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

• Drive performance modeling, energy yield assessments, and grid impact studies.

• Support the adoption of AI-driven monitoring systems, predictive maintenance, and digital twin technology.

Stakeholder & Compliance Management

• Act as the technical point of contact for clients, regulators, and internal stakeholders.

• Ensure projects meet HSE, ESG, and quality control requirements.

• Provide technical due diligence and risk assessments for new projects.

Team Leadership & Training

• Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

• Conduct technical workshops and training programs to enhance team capabilities.

Key Requirements

• 5+ years of technical experience in solar PV and battery energy storage (BESS) project execution.

• Strong expertise in system design, grid integration, and power system engineering.

• Familiarity with industry standards (IEC, UL, GB, NEC), energy storage technologies, and grid interconnection processes.

• Hands-on experience with energy modeling software (PVSyst, HOMER, DigSilent, or similar).

• Ability to work with multi-national teams and manage cross-border projects.

• Fluent in Mandarin and English; additional language skills are an advantage.
