Job description

​Leading a technical team to develop and deploy engineering solutions for power plants, enhancing reliability and addressing complex challenges. Director need to focus on recruiting, developing, and managing an interdisciplinary team to solve business problems and achieve goals. This role includes supervision, providing consulting support, diagnosing problems, conducting root cause analysis, and integrating predictive analysis solutions. The director also needs to expand their technical expertise based on specific project requirements.

Job responsibilities:

  • Technical expertise and support for applying industry experience, equipment knowledge, and software expertise to support world-class predictive analysis and monitoring solutions.

  • Collaborate with the reliability and risk management and supply reliability teams to reduce potential failure risks.

  • As a core expert, Technical Expertise provides in-depth technical knowledge about O&M, and utilizes this knowledge to design and implement long-term solutions that improve power plant efficiency and reliability.

  • Technical review and investigation review of the owner's technical specifications (OTS), and learning from experience and lessons. Verify the list of suppliers/original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in the new project.

  • Lead technical investigations and RCA, propose solutions, and support specific technical issues related to design, power plant renovation, and upgrades.

  • Establish minimum quality standards and best practices to ensure the reliability of energy supply at all stages of the project.

  • Accountability and leadership serve as the single point of accountability for the delivery of results by the Center of Engineering Excellence (CoE) team. Create an efficient work environment through excellent leadership, guidance, and coaching.

  • Applying complex technology expertise to create practical business solutions.

  • Experienced in managing teams in dynamic environments, with a track record of cultivating and guiding talent.

  • Continuous Improvement identifies opportunities for improvement and provides support for organizational and departmental change plans and projects by combining best practices and standards in the business environment.

  • Fully complies with all relevant health, safety, security, and environmental management policies, procedures, and control measures to ensure employee safety, compliance with regulatory requirements, and a responsible environmental attitude.

  • Collaberation Internal: Close collaboration is required with the VP of CoE, SVP of Business Units, Director of Innovation and Business Intelligence, Operations Team, Maintenance Team, and any other relevant functional departments.

  • Collaberation External: It is necessary to establish good relationships with the Power technical team, consultants, and consulting firms.

  • Team building and leadership recruitment to cultivate a high-quality engineering team.

  • Collaborate and solve problems with other technical teams to tackle business challenges. Assist the team in diagnosing and resolving technical issues.

Requirements, knowledge and skills:
  • Educational background: Master's/bachelor's degree in Engineering. English as working languange is a must.

  • Work experience: Having 15 to 20 years of work experience in the relevant field.

  • Professional skills: Rich leadership experience. Strong abilities in critical thinking, decision-making, problem-solving, and attention to detail.

  • Has successful experience in improving equipment/power plant reliability. Strong communication skills and good at listening to others' opinions.

  • A record of delivering results in a rapidly changing, highly collaborative, multi site, and multi stakeholder environment.

  • Having work experience in engineering integration centers of original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), well-known engineering companies, or large power Group.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
