Job description
Job title: Sustainable Energy Quality Engineer
Location: Northern Cape, South Africa (On-site)
Our client is a global IPP who is passionate about reducing the carbon footprint of industry on a global scale & transitioning to cleaner energy by offering innovative solutions to get to a carbon net zero world.
Responsibilities
Build partnerships with key stakeholders and contribute to the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for ensuring safety and quality assurance on project sites.
Conduct site audits, safety checks, and risk assessments to determine suitable locations for solar PV installations.
Additionally, develop project management plans, oversee contractors' works, and lead procurement negotiations.
Evaluate project progress, technical viability, and costs to ensure compliance with governance limits.
Oversee installation processes, including lightning protection systems, and review computer simulations and test results.
In addition, develop staff through capability development and recommend training activities.
Furthermore, collaborate with authorities and professional engineers to facilitate project-related approvals.
Skills/Qualifications
University Degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering
ISO 9001 Quality Management System certification
5-7 years’ experience in wind/solar energy projects/power plants as a Civil/Quality Engineer
Strong track record in construction and site management within Electrical and Instrumentation
Comprehensive experience in Construction and Site Management
Results-driven and collaborative, able to achieve outcomes individually and with diverse teams
Additionally, work effective in cross-cultural, multidisciplinary collaboration
Collaborative approach across departments for optimal company results
Furthermore, demonstrate ownership, strategic thinking, and high ethical standards
Motivational leadership of teams and individuals with respect for diversity
Information seeking, organization, and exchange for decision-making and problem-solving
Fosters open communication on personal and professional matters.
