THE OPPORTUNITY: 

Excellent opportunity for a commercially-minded Financial Controller to join a Solar PV start-up that develops, operates and finances solar PV projects across Europe. 

You will play a crucial role guiding the future direction of the company - identifying risks and qualifying them for senior management to inform future-decision making in a flat working structure. 

THE ROLE: 

• Improve and implement robust financial controls for projects as well as subsidiaries
• Manage local accounting and tax advisors 
• Develop and implement forecasting, planning and budgeting processes 
• Month-end consolidation and preparation of monthly management reports with insightful commentary 
• Support to the Management team - key areas of operational improvement such as the reduction in working capital balances, improvement in operating cashflow, management of chargeability and monitoring of profitability of projects/investments
• Create maximum value for the business through effective processes and being an aligned business partner and advisor 
• Financial modelling of projects
• Supporting in project finance activities 

THE INDIVIDUAL: 

• Master’s degree in business administration with major in finance, accounting or controlling
• More than 5 years of working experience preferably within the (renewable) energy industry
• Ideally ACA OR ACCA qualified or comparable
• Excellent understanding of HGB/IFRS
• Excellent skills in MS Office in particular Excel
• Good financial modelling skills
• Good analytical skills
• Good level of English and German. Other languages like Italian, Spanish are definitely a plus 
• Available for international travel if and when required (10 - 20% max.)
