Job description

QA/QC Site Manager purpose is to develop quality management systems and meet established international and local quality standards. QA/QC Manager will be responsible for the execution of a quality system for the company and during construction, performing on-site follow-up in the field for issues related to quality, overseeing day-to-day operations of the PV inspection program to meet client expectation.  

Reports to: 
Report to Project Manager 

Responsibilities: 

  • Guide and support the development and implementation of an effective Quality Management system across the project 
  • Adapt and integrate systems to maintain best practices
  • Ensures the Quality system is adequately communicated, maintained and compliant with the client requirements and all legal, regulatory legislation and local standard. 
  • Work with the client on Quality related matters and works collaboratively to build positive working relationships with project personnel and the client 
  • Contribute to the overall strategy of continuous improvement for the Quality focused initiatives onsite
  • Assures the company continuously improves performance in Quality, while maintaining compliance with all Local, Provincial and Federal regulations 
  • Supervises and evaluates any other Quality personnel onsite 
  • Promotes quality achievement and performance throughout the project
  • Supports and monitors the implementation and development of Quality Management
  • Sets quality compliance objectives and standards of service, and ensures targets are achieved for Quality 
  • Coordinates activities required to meet Quality standards, including; technical procedures, work instructions, inspection points programs, technical specification for procuring, material reception programs, etc 
  • Works with commercial staff to establish Quality and HSE requirements 
  • Liaises with Project Team, Client, Regulatory Agencies, Consultants / Subcontractors and Suppliers to ensure the Quality management system is functioning properly, advises on changes and their implementation strategies 
  • Full knowledge of the contract requirements with the client and subcontractor and ensures that subcontractor follow up with contractual obligations 

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Educated to degree level and may also be required to hold any relevant qualifications and systems training associated with Quality Management, as well as experience in the Quality sector 
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing with company team and key stakeholders in order to exchange information, explain the project, ensure understanding of programs, and to coordinate compliance efforts. 
  • Specific knowledge and application of Total Quality Management, Methodologies and ISO 9000 and 9001 systems 
  • Specific knowledge and application of ISO and OHSAS Management Systems 14001 and 18001 
  • Demonstrated ability to work within and manage Quality management 
  • Demonstrated ability to write and produce Quality Management and other IMS plans, procedures, manuals, sops as required
  • Demonstrated understanding of local and international Quality systems, standards, documentation, codes of practice and regulatory requirements 
  • Demonstrated report / technical content writing skills  - Demonstrated proficiency in document control, records and reporting systems 
  • Exceptional communication, organisation, listening and problem solving skills 
  • Demonstrated diplomatic approach is solving issues and working towards resolution 
  • Highly developed interpersonal communications skills and cultural sensitivity 
  • Demonstrated highly effective platform presentation skills and training delivery skills 
  • Proficient in MS Office 
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to lead a diverse group of individuals 
  • As a solid time management system and demonstrates excellent organizational skills -
  • Must be open to travel or relocation 
  • Must be self-motivated with an ability to carry-on the project under tight deadlines 
  • Must have Project management skills and be a supportive team member, able to work in a collaborative environment as well as work on self-directed independent projects
