The office in the UK is expanding its technical team to reinforce the deployment and development of energy infrastructure in the UK & Ireland with a focus on providing System Integration solutions for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

Job Description:

Our client is looking for a BESS Project Manager hybrid based out of our UK office and at various locations associated with our projects in the UK

The focus is BESS project delivery whilst being technically minded around electrical installations and grid compliance. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to play a leading role in the deployment of our BESS solutions business in the UK & Ireland and to join a successful company currently undergoing a growth phase.

The candidate will need to be motivated and have a strong technical background in Battery Energy Storage Systems, or a desire to develop one, with a proven track record in engineering and project delivery. A candidate with experience in developing battery energy storage projects from initiation through permitting, design, procurement, and planning to be construction-ready will be highly advantageous.

The main responsibilities include:

Manage project engineering workstreams, including:

• Day-to-day contract management, acting as the client's representative in BESS and associated transformer supply and Systems Integrator (SI) contracts.

• Coordination with clients, project teams, and external suppliers to ensure BESS solution is suitable to meet the client’s Employer’s Requirements.

• Leading and managing tendering work for new BESS opportunities

• Basic design and detailed engineering design work and coordination of BESS equipment

• Development and review of technical documentation

• Testing and commissioning support and coordination of BESS equipment during the execution phase.

• Continuously identify& evaluate new BESS suppliers and market trends.

• BESS solution optimization

• Provide support to project development and delivery workstreams, including:

• Support to commercial and engineering teams to manage tendering for new opportunities.

• Support to commercial team to negotiate and manage BESS supply + maintenance contracts.

Requirements:

• Coordination with the clients' transformer and ESS divisions(based in South Korea) on relevant projects

• Manage relationships with key BESS suppliers.

• Project management of all BESS development and delivery work

• Solid experience within the energy storage/BESS [3-5 years’ experience] industry/Renewables/Power sector within development and construction.

• Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.

• Detailed understanding of the full development cycle of BESS projects from inception to project execution.

• Experienced in stakeholder management, managing customers, contractors, and suppliers.
