Job description
As a Process Engineer, you'll be responsible for guiding and supporting the operations team, applying continuous improvement methodologies to optimize plant operations. Your role will focus on enhancing manufacturing processes, driving cost reduction initiatives, and ensuring safety and quality standards are met. You'll manage documentation, troubleshoot issues, train staff, and collaborate across teams to achieve operational and job effectiveness, while supporting systematic improvements and plant goals.
Responsibilities
Offer engineering expertise to support a strong understanding of manufacturing workflows.
Manage and contribute to projects aimed at reducing costs, refining processes, and introducing new products or procedures.
Ensure compliance with plant safety practices and perform all tasks with safety as a priority.
Provide training and support for customers on updates to equipment or operational processes.
Familiarize yourself with project documentation, including contracts, drawings, specifications, and defined scopes.
Lead the investigation, evaluation, and implementation of advancements in processes and operations, including automated and manual systems, while using metrics and audits to measure success.
Develop troubleshooting resources and train teams in maintenance and operations.
Address process challenges by analyzing data, conducting experiments, and collaborating with experts.
Recommend and execute enhancements for current processes and equipment.
Identify recurring issues and implement effective long-term solutions.
Maintain and update operational and engineering documentation.
Oversee the creation and management of the project timeline.
Organize and track all project-related documents, including updated drawings and contracts.
Partner with the EHS team to lead safety improvement initiatives and reduce incident risks.
Drive cross-functional changes by working with safety, manufacturing, and quality teams to achieve systematic improvements.
Develop technical documents, such as PFMEA, Control Plans, and SOPs.
Generate and update progress reports to monitor and support ongoing plant enhancements.
Undertake additional responsibilities and special assignments as required by leadership.
Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering.
Prior experience in solar cell manufacturing is an advantage.
Excellent mechanical aptitude paired with strong analytical skills.
Demonstrated technical expertise and problem-solving ability.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across various management levels and client business units.
