Our client is in a fantastic position in grid balancing (a crucial element to the decarbonization strategy of Energy Businesses, Utilities, TSO’s, & DSO’s) - offering a product suite of software solutions to some already fantastic, global partners.
Following several successful rounds of funding, the scale-up are searching for an experienced Pre-Sales Consultant- who would be a vital contributor in their mission to transformenergy trading & operating systems to support a flexible, decentralised, and decarbonised future!
This new & exciting opportunity has arisen for an engineer-turned-sales professional within Energy Trading/Smart Grid/Flexibility markets, who has a proven ability to understand client needs, before translating & presenting technical solutions their software platform offers.
The main objective of this position is to act as a product & technical expert during the entire sales cycle, drawing parallels between their needs and the technical solutions on offer.
Key responsibilities include:
Engage with prospects in pre-sales activities, including: initial qualification, product demonstrations, technical discussions, & proof of concept (POC) deployments
Provide technical expertise throughout the sales cycle – creating proposals, technical documents, responding to requests for information (RFIs) & requests for proposals (RFPs)
Collaborate with product & engineering teams to understand the SaaS platform’s technical qualities and translate this into the product’s value proposition to address customer needs.
Support the product’s continuous improvement suggesting technical improvements and providing feedback from clients to product & engineering teams
Create best practices & targets in line with international expansion plans
The role requires a confident individual with a strong commercial and technical skillset.
3+ years’ experience in a pre-sales, sales engineering, or technical consulting position
3+ years’ experience in energy markets surrounding trading, flexibility, grid balancing, or DER software solutions
Proven ability to establish strong relations with clients by providing technical SaaS solutions that match their requirements
Strong understanding of cloud native architecture, SaaS applications, API’s etc.
Passion & ability to present technical solutions and lead architectural discussions
Experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Engineering, & Product teams
Ability to influence decisions throughout the sales cycle
Familiarity in scale-up environments
