Job description

​Our client is looking for a Legal Counsel based in Kuala Lumpur to support their project development activities across the APAC region from origination, through to the construction and maintenance stage.

TGRC is proud to partner with a global renewable energy developer with a capacity of over 1.15 GW worldwide, specialising in the development, engineering, and financing of utility-scale solar farms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Designing, drafting, and reviewing the joint venture agreement with their local development partners.

  • Drafting and reviewing project-related term sheets and main project contracts, including EPC, O&M, and PPAs.

  • Moreover, assisting in securing project rights and project financing.

  • Identifying and implementing the corporate structure best suited for a particular project, taking into account the regulatory requirements of the regional market.

  • Providing legal, and regulatory advice, and company corporate secretarial support from the shareholder's perspective for all APAC legal entities.

  • Lastly, providing legal guidance to internal stakeholders in the APAC region regarding legal matters.

Your Profile
  • Law degree with 5+ years experience PQE in private practice across Renewables/Energy/Construction/major projects or experience in-house within the renewable or energy sectors.

  • Experience with land lease and land purchase agreements.

  • In addition, experience with EPC contracts, O&M, and PPAs.

  • Furthermore, experience within the renewable sector is preferred.

  • Strong ability to identify and understand complex legal issues across several jurisdictions.

  • Lastly, enjoy working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with excellent communication.
