Job description

​The client is looking for a highly motivated individual that will be primarily responsible for leading a land acquisition team, negotiating and securing agreements to purchase land and other rights on behalf of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and manage land acquisition campaigns, including CRM management, negotiation and execution of agreements, and weekly reporting.

  • Supervise team of internal and external land agents to achieve goals, manage resources, and evaluate performance to ensure efficient execution of land campaigns and company objectives.

  • Continuously network and develop channels to source new opportunities.

  • Use proprietary systems and resources to find new leads and projects

  • Meet with high impact landowners or their representatives to articulate the benefits of the company’s value proposition.

  • Negotiate contracts with high impact landowners and/or landowner representatives that will culminate with the acquisition of real property rights as directed by the Company.

  • Assist in obtaining documents including, but not limited to, leases, easements, land purchase agreements title curative instruments and other items related to the transaction.

  • Maintain relationships with landowners throughout the life cycle of the transaction.

  • Maintain detailed records of activity in CRM system and provide weekly updates of activities.

Education & Experience:

  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to identify and solve complex problems.

  • Ability to manage and coach a remote team of five (5) to ten (10) people.

  • Expert-level knowledge of negotiation principles and a proven ability to close transactions.

  • Experience initiating and building relationships with landowners and/or landowner representatives.

  • Confident and comfortable making cold calls and cold introductions.

  • Strong understanding of effective prospecting techniques for new opportunities.

  • Patience and willingness to educate others involved in potential transactions

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with particular ability to succinctly communicate complex problems and solutions.

  • Self-starter, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Requires knowledge of Microsoft Office, and CRM software.

  • Requires a minimum of eight (8) years of direct experience in outside sales, business development, commercial real estate, or land leasing/mineral acquisition activities and experience leading teams in pursuit of land and/or mineral acquisitions.

Ability to travel 25% or more of work time.
