Job description
The client is looking for a highly motivated individual that will be primarily responsible for leading a land acquisition team, negotiating and securing agreements to purchase land and other rights on behalf of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement and manage land acquisition campaigns, including CRM management, negotiation and execution of agreements, and weekly reporting.
Supervise team of internal and external land agents to achieve goals, manage resources, and evaluate performance to ensure efficient execution of land campaigns and company objectives.
Continuously network and develop channels to source new opportunities.
Use proprietary systems and resources to find new leads and projects
Meet with high impact landowners or their representatives to articulate the benefits of the company’s value proposition.
Negotiate contracts with high impact landowners and/or landowner representatives that will culminate with the acquisition of real property rights as directed by the Company.
Assist in obtaining documents including, but not limited to, leases, easements, land purchase agreements title curative instruments and other items related to the transaction.
Maintain relationships with landowners throughout the life cycle of the transaction.
Maintain detailed records of activity in CRM system and provide weekly updates of activities.
Education & Experience:
Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to identify and solve complex problems.
Ability to manage and coach a remote team of five (5) to ten (10) people.
Expert-level knowledge of negotiation principles and a proven ability to close transactions.
Experience initiating and building relationships with landowners and/or landowner representatives.
Confident and comfortable making cold calls and cold introductions.
Strong understanding of effective prospecting techniques for new opportunities.
Patience and willingness to educate others involved in potential transactions
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with particular ability to succinctly communicate complex problems and solutions.
Self-starter, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Requires knowledge of Microsoft Office, and CRM software.
Requires a minimum of eight (8) years of direct experience in outside sales, business development, commercial real estate, or land leasing/mineral acquisition activities and experience leading teams in pursuit of land and/or mineral acquisitions.
Ability to travel 25% or more of work time.
