Role: Investment Analyst (Solar Development)

Location: London

Salary: £35,000-£40,000

 

Our client, a leading international solar development company is looking for an investment analyst to join its growing team in London. Our client is looking for someone with 1-2 years experience in renewable energy finance/investment. The role will broadly focus on financial analysis and valuations, production of Investment memorandums, due diligence processes, and production of reports . A non-exhaustive list of functions and responsibilities of the Investment Analyst is presented below:

 

  • Support the Investment Manager in the evaluation and acquisition of large-scale ground-mounted solar PV projects at ready to build stage in UK and Europe;
  • Support the Investment Manager in the onboarding of the acquired projects;
  • Under supervision of the Investment Manager, gain ownership of the financial models of the projects;
  • Run sensitivities and scenario analysis as required;
  • Support the Investment Manager in the preparation of Investment papers and Board memos;
  • Support the Investment Manager as required during the due diligence phase of a project acquisition;
  • Support the Capital Management Director and Investment Manager in any future fundraising including raising external debt;
  • Source and aggregate relevant financial and non-financial information required for reporting purposes;
  • Liaise with in-country partners, consultants and advisors as required, and coordinate these efforts efficiently throughout the acquisition, onboarding, and disposal of projects.

 

Skills required:

  • Knowledge of the renewable energy sector is beneficial;
  • Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree or PhD with good academic record;
  • Familiar with financial models, relevant working experience highly beneficial;
  • Familiar with valuations and financial analysis, relevant working experience highly beneficial;
  • Ability to interpret and evaluate financial statements and financial metrics.
  • Part qualified ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CFA with relevant working experience in a similar role beneficial but not essential;
  • Good Microsoft office and Excel skills;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Can do attitude and a team player;
  • Inquisitive mind, willingness to learn;
  • Good team player, ability to work and support the team
  • Based in UK and willing to travel around and outside of UK
