Job description
A growing energy investment company is seeking a Grid Connection Manager to join its Berlin-based team and take a leading role in delivering utility-scale energy projects across Germany. With over 50 active developments in the pipeline and the first projects heading into construction by the end of the year, this is an opportunity for an experienced Grid Engineer or Manager to step into a key position, drive grid strategy, and build lasting relationships with network operators.
The Role
This is a technical role with a strong stakeholder focus, ideal for someone who has already established relationships with German network operators. The Grid Connection Manager will:
Take over responsibility for pipeline projects and provide support across 12+ priority developments
De-risk grid connection elements of projects heading into construction
Build and maintain trusted relationships with TSOs and DSOs across the country
Shape and implement grid strategy across a diverse portfolio, including battery storage, solar, wind, and data centres
Support team growth and, over time, mentor junior colleagues as the organisation expands
Optionally become involved in the construction phase of projects as they progress
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will bring:
2+ years managing grid connections for utility-scale projects, preferably within an IPP or developer environment (or 4+ years of experience in a DNO/grid-facing role, including rooftop solar, with the ambition to scale up)
Demonstrated experience in working with German network operators
An engineering degree (any discipline)
Business-fluent German and strong English
Availability to work full-time in Berlin, with hybrid flexibility (3 days in-office to start)
A proactive, collaborative mindset and eagerness to grow into a leadership role
What’s on Offer
A role within a well-backed, family-run business with a proven model and a long history in property investment
Stability through a land-first development strategy, reducing exposure to market volatility
A broad project scope across Germany, with exposure to greenfield development in BESS, solar, wind, nuclear, and data centre sectors
A tight-knit, open, and cross-functional team – where everyone is involved in evaluating land, strategy, and project viability
Clear career progression, with the opportunity to shape and grow the grid function
Salary between €60,000–90,000, with a performance-based bonus (flexibility for the right candidate)
This is an excellent opportunity for a Grid Manager who wants to step up, take ownership, and be part of a team that values both technical excellence and strategic thinking.
