Job description
TGRC has partnered with a UK-based Independent Connection Provider (ICP) specializing in the design, construction, and commissioning of high-voltage (HV) electrical infrastructure for renewable energy projects. Our client is currently seeking a Division Director to do the following:
Key Responsibilities:
Daily Division Operations:
Oversee all division activities to ensure smooth, efficient operations across projects, resources, and functional areas.
Drive operational excellence by ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and meet quality standards.
Strategic Growth and Development:
Develop and execute strategies to grow the division, identifying new market opportunities and diversifying revenue streams within the high-voltage (HV) sector.
Lead commercial initiatives to enhance the division’s profitability, including the pursuit of new business opportunities and the cultivation of client relationships.
Industry Engagement and Relationship Management:
Represent the company at industry conferences, events, and networking forums, strengthening relationships with key stakeholders, clients, and partners.
Foster strong client relationships to encourage repeat business and support expansion into new markets and sectors.
Financial Planning and Coordination:
Collaborate with the Finance Business Partner and Group Finance team to develop and oversee the division’s annual budget, ensuring it aligns with broader business goals.
Contribute to financial forecasting and analysis, ensuring accuracy and taking proactive measures to address any variances.
Technical Leadership and Compliance:
Serve as the Authorizing Officer for the National Electrical Registration Scheme (NERS), ensuring full compliance with technical and safety standards.
Provide expert technical guidance across the division, supporting internal teams and advising clients as needed.
Commercial and Operational Oversight:
Offer strategic input on complex projects and bids, ensuring contract structures align with commercial and financial targets.
Manage project variations, disputes, and claims, working with legal counsel and clients to reach efficient and favorable resolutions.
Senior Leadership Team Management:
Lead and support the Leadership Team—including the Operations, Commercial, and Technical Directors, as well as the Finance Business Partner—ensuring cohesive teamwork and strong departmental performance.
Set clear goals for leadership team members, offering regular feedback and cultivating a results-driven, high-performance culture.
Required Skills & Experience:
High-Voltage Electrical Expertise:
In-depth technical knowledge and practical experience in electrical installations, with a particular focus on high-voltage systems up to 132kV. Committed to maintaining full compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
Contracting Proficiency:
Demonstrated success in managing and delivering complex, large-scale contracting projects. Skilled in overseeing multiple concurrent contracts while ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and to the highest standards.
Project Management Excellence:
Proven ability to lead projects from initiation to completion, meeting budgetary constraints and client requirements. Well-versed in project planning, risk mitigation, and effective resource management.
Meticulous Attention to Detail:
Highly attentive to detail in reviewing technical drawings, contractual obligations, financial reports, and project outputs, ensuring thoroughness, accuracy, and high quality.
Exceptional Communication:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging and influencing a wide range of stakeholders—including clients, executives, contractors, and internal teams. Adept at conveying complex technical and commercial information with clarity, care, and professionalism.
