Summary:
A leading solar EPC company in Sydney are seeking a Design Engineer to assist their growing projects team. This is a great opportunity for an ambitious individual with a minimum 2+ years’ experience in Solar PV design to join a well-respected, Australian company with a healthy pipeline of new projects to become immersed in
Your Responsibilities:
As Solar PV Design Engineer, your responsibilities are as follows:
· Complete a high‐quality and full design of the solar system
· Understand and confirm design inputs before the Planning and Design Process starts
· Drawings: prepare, review and issue all drawings for Grid Connection and For Construction
· Technical Documentation: prepare, review and issue all documentation required for Grid-Connection and For Construction
· Complete all electrical calculations in detail related to the project (DC and AC)
· Perform shading analysis
· Evaluate the Energy Output (Grid Connection and For Construction milestones)
· Collaborate with project managers to obtain the corresponding Development Application
· Detail specification of the Grid Protection strategy (Hardware and Software)
· Ensure the Grid Connection is approved successfully by the DNSP
· Obtain final structural assessment prior to installation (after final layout is completed)
· Create the Bill of Materials
· Determine the monitoring design in detail (hardware, software and installation method)
· Once documentation completed, validate the Project Information Template and design inputs
· Ensure the technical documentation and drawings have been completed effectively and all information is clear to start the installation.
· Attend handover meetings
· Communicate with project managers throughout the design process
Skills, Qualification and Experience required from you:
· Technical Degree (preferably with Masters) in Solar PV, Energy or Electrical Engineering
· Minimum 2 years’ experience working on Solar PV projects in Australia
· Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
· Genuine interest and proven ability in electrical design and solving complex technical problems
