Job description

My client are a leading service provider to the global offshore industry, excelling in the management and operation of support vessels.

 

They are currently looking for a Chief Commercial Officer, to lead the chartering team to meet the organisation’s strategic targets. The main aspects of this role would be providing expertise and leadership on all commercial matters. The CCO would be working closely across the whole business to establish commercial best practices and to build and maintain stakeholder relationships.

 

The key responsibilities of this role are:

  • Support and contribute to the development and execution of the business strategy. Identify new opportunities to expand the business in new markets, and then develop and successfully implement the plans to generate new revenue
  • Proactively develop and maintain strategic relationships with business partners, charterers, brokers and customers
  • Preparing and submitting comprehensive business plans an market development proposals
  • Working collaboratively across all teams in the business to establish commercial best practice
  • Ensure the Board has full transparency of commercial and contractual risk and propose robust risk mitigation strategies to manage exposure within acceptable limits
  • Negotiating commercial terms
  • Being accountable for the utilisation of the fleet of support vessels and building of charter/contract backlog in line with the agreed budget
  • Budget and forecast charter revenues and associated costs
  • Lead the chartering department

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5-8 years’ experience in a senior chartering management/business development/commercial position within the offshore oil & gas industry#
  • Strong experience in offshore renewables projects
  • Master’s degree in business related subject
  • Extensive contract negotiation experience and skills
  • Previous direct responsibility for sales and budget performance
  • Track record in acquisition of new customers and accounts
  • Experience in forecasting and budgeting then monitoring performance against KPI´s
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in OSV markets with ability to generate detailed reports and analysis relating to the business environment
  • Good understanding of business finance including asset valuation, investment appraisal and comparison of multiple options
  • Fluent in English, German beneficial
