An exciting opportunity has arisen with a well-renowned developer specialising within the energy storage sector. Due to an ambitious growth strategy, they’re looking for a driven and conscientious Commercial Sales Manager to take charge of its client outreach and operations department.
THE ROLE:
The position requires an individual with strong understanding of the UK markets, finance, batter storage operation and demonstrable experience of selling to investors/battery system owners.
Some of the responsibilities of the role include:
- Leading the Energy Storage sales process from the initial stages all the way through to commercial negotiations and deal close, including optimisation/trading services
- Working regularly on building new strategic industry contacts and expanding the company’s reach through networking, attending and presenting at relevant conferences or events
- Liaising closely with the Commercial Finance team to ensure KPIs and sales targets are regularly being met
- Identifying and driving new initiatives that will ensure the company’s ambitious growth targets are met
THE INDIVIDUAL:
This is an incredibly hands-on, outward-facing position that requires a candidate with excellent interpersonal skills and strong business aptitude
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong sales background with a proven track record of closing battery management system (EMS) and optimisation services deals in the UK
- Strong understanding of the wide UK power industry markets/developments/challenges is key
- Knowledge about trading markets is advantageous
- Pre-existing network of contacts in the UK energy storage space is key
- Close knowledge of enterprise-type sales processes and cycles
- Willingness to travel nationally and potentially internationally
- Technical background and experience an advantage
- Experience guiding internal customer dynamics/politics to close deals
