Job description

​My client operates a 53 MW portfolio comprising eight commissioned wind farms and three solar farms totaling 58 MWp. The company is also advancing several greenfield solar, wind, and energy storage projects at various stages of development.

They are seeking a Business Development Manager to join their Development Team. Reporting to the Managing Director, the role involves overseeing the development of wind, solar, and battery storage projects, from site identification and land acquisition to securing permits and preparing for construction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identifying potential sites for new projects.

  • Analyzing electrical network infrastructures to support project interconnection.

  • Leading or assisting with landowner negotiations, including for site access, roadways, cables, and overhead lines.

  • Managing relationships with external stakeholders such as local communities, authorities, and elected officials.

  • Managing the Environmental Impact Assessment Report (EIAR) process and planning stages through to pre-construction handover.

  • Conducting financial modelling and supporting the development of business cases for acquiring wind, solar, and energy storage projects.

  • Supporting the Construction and Asset Management teams during the initial service phases.

  • Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety procedures.

  • Providing regular management reports.

Candidate Profile:

  • Master’s degree in engineering, planning, or business administration, with a focus on renewable energy, environment, or project management.

  • 5 to 10 years of relevant experience; experience in wind farm development is a plus.

  • Proficiency in GIS/AutoCAD is advantageous.

  • Highly motivated to work in a dynamic environment; organized, open-minded, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong analytical, adaptable, and efficient working style.

  • Excellent communication, social skills, and leadership ability.

  • Integrity, ethical standards, and sound judgment.

  • Intellectual curiosity, passion, and self-motivation.

  • Full clean driving license, with regular travel required for fieldwork and occasional trips to Headquarters.
