The Opportunity:

The Green Recruitment Company is delighted to partner with a prestigious Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specializing in solar panels, based in Shanghai. As the company continues to expand its business development function and aggressively grow its presence in overseas markets, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Business Development to join the team.

This is a pivotal role, offering the opportunity to drive significant growth and make a substantial impact within a thriving and innovative industry. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of success in a similar manufacturing environment, with at least five years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop and implement strategic business development plans to expand the company’s footprint in global markets, particularly focusing on emerging regions.

  • Market Analysis & Research: Conduct comprehensive market research to identify new opportunities and assess the competitive landscape, providing insights that shape the company’s growth strategies.

  • Partnership Development: Forge and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including partners, distributors, and clients, to enhance market penetration and brand recognition.

  • Sales & Revenue Growth: Drive the sales process from lead generation to deal closure, ensuring the achievement of revenue targets and contributing to the overall profitability of the company.

  • Team Leadership: Mentor and guide the business development team, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.

  • Reporting & Analytics: Regularly report on key performance indicators, providing insights and recommendations to the executive team on the effectiveness of business development initiatives.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a business development role within a manufacturing environment, ideally within the renewable energy sector.

  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field. An MBA would be advantageous.

  • Skills: Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence decision-makers at all levels. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.

  • Language: Proficiency in English is required; additional language skills, particularly Mandarin, would be a strong advantage.

  • Personal Attributes: Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
