Account Manager

Location: South Africa (Remote)

Our client is a climate tech start-up looking for an account manager with Technical Sales: Presenting detailed product knowledge to potential clients, including but not limited to solar developers (Minigrid developers; commercial and industrial clients C&I; distributors; strategic partners; and more). Technical system designs for various project sizes, cross checking compatibility, integrations, utilizing software such as Helioscope, PV System and related design tools; Presentations: required to present to stakeholders, including solar developers across Africa and from time-to-time in other markets globally. OEM representation: ability to internalize OEM sales pitches OEM from a technical perspective and compile, distribute and articulate the unique selling points (UPS) of an OEM

Requirements:

  • At least 3-years of experience in the solar industry designing, or installing solar systems or performing technical sales.

  • B.Eng. Electrical Engineer or similar.

  • Experience of sales account management and CRM preferred but not required.

  • Must have own reliable laptop and means of video and audio conferencing during regular business hours.

Duties and responsibilities:

Account Management:

  • Ability to manage up to hundreds of accounts with regular and consistent communication, follow-up and overall support

  • Position yourself as an extension of the team of every company you manage and offer in-depth technical expertise, design knowledge, equipment information etc.

  • Perform excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills

  • Maintain partnership agreements, utilize lead generation tools per the guidance of your manager

  • Collect and maintain updated information on client business, projects, record of communications and next actions on company CRM

Operations:

  • Capacity to assist in all operational aspects of the company

  • Regularly quote and build proposals on the CRM platform of the company

  • Meticulous organizational skills related to workbooks, CRM, technical and resource libraries

  • Perform all related support tasks from time to time
