​Senior Testing & Commissioning Manager – Power Plant Controller (PPC) Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a Power Plant Controller (PPC) Specialist to lead the configuration, testing, commissioning, and validation of plant-level control systems across utility-scale renewable energy projects.

This role acts as the final functional integrator of the plant, ensuring coordinated operation of solar PV, wind, BESS, STATCOM, and grid infrastructure while maintaining full compliance with grid codes and utility dispatch requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Review PPC control philosophies, signal lists, and functional design documents

• Validate compliance with local and international grid codes and AGC requirements

• Configure PPC control modes, priorities, and operating setpoints

• Integrate PPC with:

• Solar inverters

• Wind Turbine Generators

• BESS and EMS systems

• STATCOM systems

• SCADA and substation controls

• Execute open-loop and closed-loop testing

• Validate active and reactive power control, ramp rate control, curtailment, and dispatch functions

• Conduct AGC and grid acceptance testing with utilities

• Troubleshoot unstable control behaviour, communication delays, and generation allocation issues

About You

• 8+ years of experience commissioning PPC or plant-level control systems

• Deep understanding of renewable hybrid plants and grid integration

• Expertise in communication protocols including IEC 61850, IEC 104, and Modbus

• Experience with AGC and grid-code compliance testing

• Strong analytical and systems-thinking capabilities

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Power, or Control Engineering
