Onshore Wind | Turbine Installation | Contract

TGRC is seeking an experienced Onshore Wind Installation Supervisor to support upcoming onshore wind project activity in South Korea.

This is a contract opportunity suited to a hands-on installation professional with strong experience supervising wind turbine erection, mechanical completion and site delivery activities. The successful candidate will support the safe and efficient installation of utility-scale onshore wind turbines, working closely with crane teams, technicians, site management, OEM representatives and client stakeholders.

The Role

As Onshore Wind Installation Supervisor, you will oversee day-to-day turbine installation activities on site, ensuring work is delivered safely, correctly and in line with project programme, OEM procedures and quality requirements.

You will be responsible for coordinating installation teams, monitoring progress, supporting technical issue resolution and ensuring that turbines are prepared for mechanical completion, commissioning and handover.

Key Responsibilities

Installation Delivery

Supervise onshore wind turbine installation activities, including tower, nacelle, hub, blade and internal component installation.

Coordinate daily installation works, lifting activities, work packs, permits and site resources.

Ensure all turbine installation works are completed in line with OEM procedures and project specifications.

Monitor installation progress against programme and report delays, risks or resource constraints.

Support mechanical completion activities and preparation for commissioning handover.

Site Supervision

Lead and coordinate installation technicians, crane teams, subcontractors and specialist service providers.

Support daily planning meetings, toolbox talks and task briefings.

Check that installation teams have the correct tools, documentation, equipment and permits before works begin.

Act as a key interface between site management, lifting teams, HSE, QA/QC and commissioning teams.

Escalate technical, logistical or safety issues promptly to the Site Manager or Project Manager.

Lifting & Mechanical Completion

Support major component lifting and installation activities in line with approved lift plans.

Ensure lifting operations are carried out safely and in accordance with site requirements.

Monitor turbine assembly quality, bolt tensioning, torqueing, alignment and completion checks.

Support punch list identification, defect reporting and close-out activities.

Ensure turbine completion documentation is accurate and submitted on time.

Health, Safety & Quality

Promote a strong safety-first culture across all installation activities.

Ensure compliance with site HSE rules, permit-to-work systems, risk assessments and method statements.

Confirm work is performed by competent, trained and authorised personnel.

Support incident prevention, safety observations and continuous improvement.

Ensure installation activities meet required quality standards before handover to commissioning.

Requirements

Previous experience supervising wind turbine installation activities.

Strong background in onshore wind, offshore wind, heavy lift, turbine erection or mechanical construction.

Good understanding of turbine installation sequencing, lifting operations and mechanical completion processes.

Experience working with crane teams, installation crews and OEM site procedures.

Ability to coordinate multiple work fronts in a fast-paced site environment.

Strong communication skills and confidence working with international project teams.

Comfortable working on a contract basis in South Korea.

Korean language skills would be advantageous; English language skills are highly desirable for OEM and international project coordination.

Preferred Qualifications

GWO Basic Safety Training.

Working at Height, Manual Handling, First Aid and Fire Awareness.

Appointed Person, Lift Supervisor, Slinger/Signaller or equivalent lifting-related training would be advantageous.

Mechanical, electrical, construction or renewable energy qualification.

Previous experience with major wind turbine OEM platforms.

Project duration, rotation and mobilisation date to be confirmed.

Competitive contract rate depending on experience, availability and project requirements.

Suitable for locally based candidates or international contractors with relevant South Korea project eligibility.
